They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Kenny Logan Jr., 47 picks early at No. 204.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Legette at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a lockdown presence outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Braden Fiske at slot 41 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A straight-up fair deal on Kiran Amegadjie at the 58th pick, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Renardo Green in the 88th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Xavier Legette is a better player than pick 91 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
A conviction pick on Tommy Eichenberg at Round 4, Pick 27 that the board grades a round light. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Mason McCormick in the 168th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The roster fit checks out.
A big swing on Kenny Logan Jr. at pick 204, well ahead of any board in the building. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
They paid a round early for Javontae Jean-Baptiste in pick No. 216, more than the board wanted. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board had cheaper options than Tatum Bethune at the 243rd pick, and it noticed. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
They reached a country mile for Zion Logue at Round 7, Pick 31, and the board is aghast. It fills a real need, too.
