The Packers put a flag in the ground for Hayden Hatten, 55 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. Getting Beebe where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Byron Murphy II in the 41st pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Xavier Worthy is a better player than Round 2, Pick 25 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
The board had Junior Colson higher than No. 88, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Cooper Beebe at pick 91. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jaylen Wright. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Value with a capital V on Isaiah Adams in pick No. 135, a genuine coup. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
By-the-book stuff, Kenny Logan Jr. at No. 203 squarely in line with his ranking. A minor itch, scratched.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Xavier Thomas in pick 217, miles early. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A wild overpay on Brennan Armstrong in Round 6, Pick 44, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They reached into another round for Hayden Hatten, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A need, and now a little less of one.
