Green Bay Packers

The Packers cashed the board's mistake on Nesbit: B.

Thirty-one other rooms let Bryson Nesbit slide, and the Packers were the ones holding the card at the Round 7 slot. Highway robbery. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. They will need Estime to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Keon Coleman · WR · rank 24
Keon Coleman in the Round 1 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Jordan Morgan · OT · rank 27
Nice patience on Jordan Morgan, who had no business lasting to slot 41. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R2.29 · Pick 61 · Josh Newton · CB · rank 61
Josh Newton at No. 61 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Javon Bullard · S · rank 69
They barely believed it either: Javon Bullard still on the board at the 88th overall pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R3.29 · Pick 92 · Audric Estime · RB · rank 101
They went early on Audric Estime in pick No. 92, and the value did not follow. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R3.36 · Pick 99 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 84
Christian Mahogany in the 99th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The roster fit checks out.
R4.25 · Pick 125 · Ainias Smith · WR · rank 123
They took Ainias Smith at par in pick 125, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · Luke McCaffrey · QB · rank 143
They paid a round early for Luke McCaffrey in Round 4, Pick 35, more than the board wanted. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Ben Bywater · LB · rank 209
Ben Bywater at slot 203 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · Jonah Monheim · OT · rank 212
Jonah Monheim in Round 6, Pick 42 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · De'Corian Clark · WR · rank 220
No edge and no loss on De'Corian Clark in the Round 6 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
R7.26 · Pick 246 · Bryson Nesbit · TE · rank 200
Circle this one: Bryson Nesbit at No. 246 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
