The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Packers reached some 44 spots for Kingsley Eguakun, and value like that does not grow back.
They banked enough surplus on Robinson to cover a lot of smaller sins. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
They robbed the room for Dallas Turner here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Chop Robinson at slot 58 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Renardo Green in Round 3, Pick 25. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Max Melton slipping to the 91st overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Isaiah Davis at the 126th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They barely believed it either: Trevor Keegan still on the board at pick 169. The roster fit checks out.
Nice patience on Trente Jones, who had no business lasting to No. 202. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Myles Murphy in pick No. 219 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Edefuan Ulofoshio slid further than he should have, and Round 7, Pick 25 is lovely value for the linebacker. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Value said wait; Kingsley Eguakun in the 255th overall pick says they were not listening. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
