When a board-topper like Roman Wilson slides to No. 127, you do not overthink it, and the Packers did not. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
The Hartman reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
Jared Verse is a better player than pick 25 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
T'Vondre Sweat at the 41st overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A reach for Braden Fiske in No. 58; a little patience would have been rewarded. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They barely believed it either: Javon Bullard still on the board at Round 3, Pick 25. A minor itch, scratched.
Jarvis Brownlee Jr. in pick No. 91 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Circle this one: Roman Wilson at the Round 4 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Steal is underselling it; Tommy Eichenberg at slot 168 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Mason McCormick in the 204th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
The board fumbled Justin Eboigbe all the way to the 216th pick, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
