Green Bay Packers

The Packers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

Future B-

The Packers spent real capital to be 174 picks early on Jeremy Moussa, and the board is going to hold them to it. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Landing Beebe that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Tyler Nubin · S · rank 30
In pick No. 25 they get a two-high chess piece at fair value. More want than need.
R2.16 · Pick 48 · T'Vondre Sweat · DT · rank 58
T'Vondre Sweat in pick 48 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Brandon Dorlus · DE-EDGE · rank 70
A conviction pick on Brandon Dorlus at the 57th overall pick that the board grades a round light. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Cooper Beebe · OG · rank 75
They let Cooper Beebe come to them and pounced at No. 88. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Caelen Carson · CB · rank 85
Caelen Carson at the Round 3 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R3.33 · Pick 96 · Audric Estime · RB · rank 97
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Audric Estime. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Kris Abrams-Draine · CB · rank 122
Fair-plus on Kris Abrams-Draine, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · Jaylan Ford · LB · rank 183
A reach for Jaylan Ford in the 168th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Braiden McGregor · DE-EDGE · rank 215
Braiden McGregor in the Round 6 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Christian Jones · OT · rank 208
Christian Jones in pick 216 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The roster fit checks out.
R7.14 · Pick 234 · Kenny Logan Jr. · S · rank 224
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kenny Logan Jr. at pick No. 234 is the proof. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · John David White · WR · rank 271
John David White in the 243rd pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R7.31 · Pick 251 · Jeremy Moussa · QB · rank 425
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jeremy Moussa. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
