The Packers spent real capital to be 174 picks early on Jeremy Moussa, and the board is going to hold them to it. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Landing Beebe that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a two-high chess piece at fair value. More want than need.
T'Vondre Sweat in pick 48 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A conviction pick on Brandon Dorlus at the 57th overall pick that the board grades a round light. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They let Cooper Beebe come to them and pounced at No. 88. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Caelen Carson at the Round 3 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Audric Estime. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Fair-plus on Kris Abrams-Draine, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A reach for Jaylan Ford in the 168th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Braiden McGregor in the Round 6 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Christian Jones in pick 216 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The roster fit checks out.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kenny Logan Jr. at pick No. 234 is the proof. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
John David White in the 243rd pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
