Somewhere a general manager is explaining how De'Corian Clark got past him. The Packers do not have to explain a thing at Round 7, Pick 26. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The Keegan reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a press-man option on the boundary, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A clean, defensible pick in the 41st overall pick with a little surplus value in Kamren Kinchens. A minor itch, scratched.
Chop Robinson in pick No. 57 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Michael Hall Jr. in No. 88 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
By-the-book stuff, Audric Estime at Round 3, Pick 28 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Cedric Gray at the 125th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Javon Foster at slot 135 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It fills a real need, too.
Value said wait; Trevor Keegan in pick 203 says they were not listening. The roster fit checks out.
They reached a country mile for Maurice Smith at Round 6, Pick 42, and the board is aghast. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They paid up for Taulia Tagovailoa at the 219th pick when waiting would have done the job. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
De'Corian Clark in pick No. 246 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
