Call it larceny. Bralen Trice sat on the board until the 41st pick, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They will need Orhorhoro to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a sticky cover corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Circle this one: Bralen Trice at the 41st overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They paid up for Ruke Orhorhoro at pick No. 57 when waiting would have done the job. A need, and now a little less of one.
A tidy bit of business in pick 88, where Cooper Beebe graded well above the range. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They took Audric Estime at par in slot 92, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Tommy Eichenberg in No. 125 is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Nothing to complain about; James Williams went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Value with a capital V on De'Corian Clark in the 203rd pick, a genuine coup. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They read the board right and Kenny Logan Jr. was the payoff at No. 217. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Walter Rouse in the 246th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
