The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Packers watched Kenny Logan Jr. slide 19 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
Reaching for Logue left real value on the table behind him. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a problem off the edge at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
By-the-book stuff, Kris Jenkins at No. 41 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Chris Braswell in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Cooper Beebe slipping to pick No. 88 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Mason McCormick at pick 91 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Max Melton slid further than he should have, and slot 126 is lovely value for the cornerback. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Jaylen Wright at the 168th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A straight-up fair deal on Omar Brown at Round 6, Pick 28, value and slot in agreement. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
No drama and no debate, Omar Speights went about where he belonged in the Round 6 slot. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Steal is underselling it; Kenny Logan Jr. at pick No. 243 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
A conviction pick on Zion Logue at the 251st pick that the board grades a round light. It fills a real need, too.
