The tape said wait; the Packers did not. Maurice Smith went at pick 203, a good 42 picks before the board was ready. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

However the rest shakes out, Clark at that price is a win they earned. They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
