Laumea should have been long gone. The Packers pounced, and earned a B-.

Thirty-one other rooms let Sataoa Laumea slide, and the Packers were the ones holding the card at the Round 6 slot. Highway robbery.

If Travis pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.11 · Pick 11 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 10
In the Round 1 slot they get an island corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.7 · Pick 39 · Keon Coleman · WR · rank 39
Keon Coleman at Round 2, Pick 7 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R2.11 · Pick 43 · Chris Braswell · LB-EDGE · rank 47
Chris Braswell at pick No. 43 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.11 · Pick 75 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 87
They paid up for Christian Mahogany at slot 75 when waiting would have done the job. A need, and now a little less of one.
R3.18 · Pick 82 · Dominick Puni · OT · rank 95
Dominick Puni in pick 82 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R4.11 · Pick 111 · Jordan Travis · QB · rank 138
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jordan Travis in No. 111, miles early. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · Devin Neal · RB · rank 152
A conviction pick on Devin Neal at the 135th pick that the board grades a round light. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.14 · Pick 189 · Sataoa Laumea · OT · rank 141
Sataoa Laumea at the 189th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · De'Corian Clark · WR · rank 214
De'Corian Clark at slot 217 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Nelson Ceaser · DL-EDGE · rank 218
A straight-up fair deal on Nelson Ceaser at pick No. 219, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R7.12 · Pick 232 · Eugene Asante · LB · rank 252
Eugene Asante in Round 7, Pick 12 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
