Green Bay Packers

A respectable, level-headed haul for the Packers: B.

Nobody else had Isaiah Davis anywhere near the Round 7 slot. The Packers did, by 61 spots, and that gap is the whole story. The bottom line is a respectable B.

That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.11 · Pick 11 · Olumuyiwa Fashanu · OT · rank 11
They took Olumuyiwa Fashanu at par in pick No. 11, which is nothing to complain about. A need, and now a little less of one.
R2.7 · Pick 39 · Nate Wiggins · CB · rank 37
Nate Wiggins at the 39th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · J.J. McCarthy · QB · rank 44
J.J. McCarthy in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R3.11 · Pick 75 · Tyler Guyton · OT · rank 64
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tyler Guyton at Round 3, Pick 11 is the proof. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R3.19 · Pick 83 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 84
No drama and no debate, TreVeyon Henderson went about where he belonged in pick 83. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R4.11 · Pick 111 · Marist Liufau · LB · rank 83
You do not let a linebacker like Marist Liufau reach the 111th overall pick and blink. They did not. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R4.12 · Pick 112 · Beau Brade · S · rank 114
A straight-up fair deal on Beau Brade at pick No. 112, value and slot in agreement. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · Beaux Limmer · C · rank 139
Beaux Limmer in the Round 4 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R5.13 · Pick 149 · Ainias Smith · WR · rank 161
Ainias Smith at the 149th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.14 · Pick 189 · Jacob Cowing · WR · rank 182
A tidy little value on Jacob Cowing in the 189th pick, a step better than break-even. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R6.22 · Pick 197 · De'Corian Clark · WR · rank 214
De'Corian Clark at pick 197 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · Omar Speights · LB · rank 227
They went early on Omar Speights in No. 217, and the value did not follow. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Sam Hartman · QB · rank 260
Sam Hartman in Round 6, Pick 44 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R7.12 · Pick 232 · Isaiah Davis · RB · rank 293
Isaiah Davis at slot 232 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
