The Packers went off the board in a big way for Justin Eboigbe, 40 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Landing Pearsall that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 11th overall pick they get a sticky cover corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They paid sticker price for Troy Fautanu in Round 2, Pick 7, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
No edge and no loss on Calen Bullock in pick No. 43; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor itch, scratched.
A conviction pick on Christian Mahogany at the Round 3 slot that the board grades a round light. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Marist Liufau at pick 82 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Braelon Allen slid further than he should have, and the 111th pick is lovely value for the running back. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Beaux Limmer in No. 135 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
A slide stopped in slot 189, with Ricky White worth more than the price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Ricky Pearsall in pick No. 217. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A premium they did not need to pay, Reuben Fatheree II a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Justin Eboigbe in the Round 7 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
