Green Bay Packers

A sensible, unshowy class lands the Packers a B-.

There is reaching, and then there is Trey Knox at the 240th overall pick. The Packers jumped the board by 32 and dared it to prove them wrong. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Getting Pearsall where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.20 · Pick 20 · Emeka Egbuka · WR · rank 25
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide. A real need, handled.
R2.8 · Pick 40 · Troy Fautanu · OT · rank 41
Troy Fautanu at No. 40 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R2.19 · Pick 51 · T.J. Tampa · CB · rank 43
The board had T.J. Tampa higher than Round 2, Pick 19, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R3.19 · Pick 83 · Rod Moore · S · rank 81
Rod Moore in the 83rd pick is fair value, right on his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Audric Estime · RB · rank 112
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Audric Estime. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.19 · Pick 119 · Tate Ratledge · OG · rank 115
Good price on Tate Ratledge in the 119th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
R4.20 · Pick 120 · Seth McLaughlin · C · rank 122
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Seth McLaughlin. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · Jaylan Ford · LB · rank 163
A big swing on Jaylan Ford at No. 135, well ahead of any board in the building. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R6.22 · Pick 197 · Brandon Coleman · OL · rank 199
Brandon Coleman in the 197th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · Darius Robinson · DL-EDGE · rank 201
A slide stopped in the Round 6 slot, with Darius Robinson worth more than the price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Ricky Pearsall · WR · rank 200
Somehow Ricky Pearsall was still sitting there in slot 219, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R7.20 · Pick 240 · Trey Knox · TE · rank 272
Trey Knox at Round 7, Pick 20 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
