Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Packers spent the 246th pick on Kendall Milton, a name the board had a full 132 spots lower. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Clark pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.26 · Pick 26 · Troy Fautanu · OT · rank 34
A reach on Troy Fautanu in the Round 1 slot; the board had better options right there. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Xavier Legette · WR · rank 42
They paid sticker price for Xavier Legette in Round 2, Pick 9, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Javon Bullard · S · rank 65
Javon Bullard in slot 57 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Marist Liufau · LB · rank 89
By-the-book stuff, Marist Liufau at pick No. 88 squarely in line with his ranking. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R3.26 · Pick 89 · Braden Fiske · DL · rank 90
Braden Fiske at No. 89 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
R3.29 · Pick 92 · Khyree Jackson · CB · rank 120
They reached a country mile for Khyree Jackson at pick 92, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R4.25 · Pick 125 · Sataoa Laumea · OT · rank 122
Sataoa Laumea at the 125th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · Javion Cohen · OG · rank 141
Javion Cohen at the 135th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R6.13 · Pick 188 · Sam Hartman · QB · rank 179
Sam Hartman at pick No. 188 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · De'Corian Clark · WR · rank 192
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and De'Corian Clark at No. 203 is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · Omar Speights · LB · rank 212
Omar Speights at Round 6, Pick 42 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Zion Nelson · OT · rank 209
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Zion Nelson in pick 219. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.26 · Pick 246 · Kendall Milton · RB · rank 378
This one needs a full-page explanation: Kendall Milton in the Round 7 slot, miles early. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
