The Packers put a flag in the ground for Sam Hartman, 63 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. A D that will need time and luck to look better.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Muhammad III value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
Pick-by-Pick
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Keon Coleman. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
By-the-book stuff, Kamari Lassiter at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Chris Braswell in the 43rd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Nice patience on Denzel Burke, who had no business lasting to the 75th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Rod Moore at No. 82 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.

No edge and no loss on Seth McLaughlin in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Ashton Gillotte in No. 135 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Sataoa Laumea at the 146th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Cody Schrader at the 153rd pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They liked Dallin Holker enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 6, Pick 14. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
