Somebody in the 189th pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Packers sat still while Nehemiah Pritchett, the No. 140 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They are betting Morgan proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 11 they get a matchup problem out wide. A real need, handled.
A conviction pick on Jordan Morgan at the 39th pick that the board grades a round light. The roster fit checks out.
By-the-book stuff, Calen Bullock at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They paid up for TreVeyon Henderson at slot 75 when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Marist Liufau in No. 82 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Nothing to complain about; Cam Hart went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A straight-up fair deal on Jordan Travis at the 135th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They robbed the room for Nehemiah Pritchett here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
