The rest of the league had time to spare on Miles Frazier; the Giants did not wait, grabbing him 28 spots ahead at pick 184. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Landing Braswell that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid sticker price for Malik Nabers in Round 1, Pick 6, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Amarius Mims in pick No. 38 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 2 slot with a little surplus value in J.J. McCarthy. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Somehow Chris Braswell was still sitting there in the 70th pick, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. The roster fit checks out.
Will Shipley in the 106th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It fills a real need, too.
Nothing to complain about; Nehemiah Pritchett went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They talked themselves into Miles Frazier at the Round 6 slot, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
