They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Dominic Zvada, 65 picks early at the 236th overall pick. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The Miller steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend. They went 8 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
They bet on numbers rather than a single high pick.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
A reach on Romello Height in the Round 2 slot; the board had better options right there. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Ted Hurst in pick No. 68 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They barely believed it either: Christen Miller still on the board at slot 91. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
You do not let a cornerback like Treydan Stukes reach the 116th overall pick and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nicholas Singleton at No. 120 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, J.C. Davis in Round 5, Pick 20, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A slide stopped in the 201st overall pick, with Taylen Green worth more than the price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
By-the-book stuff, Jaren Kanak at pick No. 229 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They talked themselves into Dominic Zvada at the Round 7 slot, and the board did not agree. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Vinny Anthony II at Round 7, Pick 39 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
