The war room fell hard for Dwight McGlothern, and it showed at the 217th overall pick: 40 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The Corley value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Taliese Fuaga · OT · rank 17
In No. 25 they get an anchor for the offensive line at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.10 · Pick 42 · Kamren Kinchens · S · rank 37
Kamren Kinchens at pick No. 42 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 58
Edgerrin Cooper at slot 57 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Zak Zinter · OG · rank 95
A straight-up fair deal on Zak Zinter at the 88th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Malachi Corley · WR · rank 79
A slide stopped in the 91st pick, with Malachi Corley worth more than the price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.8 · Pick 108 · Darius Robinson · DL-EDGE · rank 121
Darius Robinson in pick 108 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.25 · Pick 125 · MarShawn Lloyd · RB · rank 130
MarShawn Lloyd in No. 125 is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · Jarrian Jones · CB · rank 123
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jarrian Jones in slot 135. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.24 · Pick 160 · Keith Randolph Jr. · DL-EDGE · rank 154
A reasonable price with a little left over, Keith Randolph Jr. in Round 5, Pick 24. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Christian Jones · OT · rank 197
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 203 with a little surplus value in Christian Jones. The roster fit checks out.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · Dwight McGlothern · CB · rank 257
Dwight McGlothern at the Round 6 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Kenny Logan Jr. · S · rank 210
The board had Kenny Logan Jr. higher than the 219th overall pick, and the safety fell to them anyway. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
R7.26 · Pick 246 · Tatum Bethune · LB · rank 254
A premium they did not need to pay, Tatum Bethune a notch or two before his time. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
