Nobody had Cedric Gray this high, and it is not close. The Packers reached 24 spots to get him at the 91st pick.
Tracy Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Troy Fautanu at the 25th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They took Tyler Nubin at par in No. 41, which is nothing to complain about. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Zach Frazier in Round 2, Pick 26 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Fair-plus on Khyree Jackson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Cedric Gray in pick No. 91 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A tidy little value on Tyler Davis in the Round 4 slot, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tyrone Tracy Jr. at the Round 5 slot is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Nothing to complain about; Myles Cole went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Gabe Hall in No. 219 is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Trevin Wallace at pick No. 245 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Joshua Cephus at the 255th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A need, and now a little less of one.
