Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Packers were there to profit. Treydan Stukes, the No. 72 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 111. No fireworks, but a solid B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
The board had Jacob Rodriguez higher than the Round 2 slot, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Nice patience on Malachi Fields, who had no business lasting to No. 91. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Somehow Treydan Stukes was still sitting there in Round 4, Pick 11, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A slide stopped in slot 120, with Genesis Smith worth more than the price. A minor itch, scratched.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Eli Raridon at the 153rd pick is the proof. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Charles Demmings in pick 160. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Value with a capital V on Tim Keenan III in the 167th overall pick, a genuine coup. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Ephesians Prysock in pick No. 189 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board fumbled Aamil Wagner all the way to Round 6, Pick 20, and they scooped it up. It fills a real need, too.
Eric McAlister in pick 226 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
A straight-up fair deal on Kaden Wetjen at No. 236, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A tidy bit of business in the 246th pick, where TJ Hall graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Isaiah Nwokobia in slot 255 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Fa'alili Fa'amoe in the Round 7 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
