The Packers spent real capital to be 94 picks early on Kenny Logan Jr., and the board is going to hold them to it.
However the rest shakes out, Greenfield at that price is a win they earned. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get a cornerstone up front. A clean fit for the roster.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Kingsley Suamataia. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
By-the-book stuff, Payton Wilson at pick No. 58 squarely in line with his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kris Abrams-Draine in pick 88. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No edge and no loss on Caelen Carson in slot 91; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Elijah Jones slid further than he should have, and Round 4, Pick 26 is lovely value for the cornerback. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
The board fumbled Tyrone Tracy Jr. all the way to pick No. 169, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Kenny Logan Jr. this early at No. 202. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Fair-plus on Nathaniel Watson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Kimani Vidal at the Round 7 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Taking Garret Greenfield in Round 7, Pick 35 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It fills a real need, too.
