The Enrique Cruz Jr. pick is the one that will follow the Packers into the fall. They took him 56 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Boerkircher. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
By-the-book stuff, Gabe Jacas at No. 52 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board fumbled Christen Miller all the way to the 84th overall pick, and they scooped it up. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
De'Zhaun Stribling in slot 120 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It fills a real need, too.
They talked themselves into Domani Jackson at the Round 5 slot, and the board did not agree. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They will replay Nate Boerkircher at Round 6, Pick 20 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They reached a country mile for Enrique Cruz Jr. at pick 236, and the board is aghast. A need, and now a little less of one.
A big swing on Adam Randall at pick No. 255, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
