The war room fell hard for Enrique Cruz Jr., and it showed at pick No. 255: 44 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Christen Miller in pick No. 52 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
They took Daylen Everette at par in No. 84, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Nicholas Singleton in the Round 4 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Caleb Douglas at the 153rd pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Value said wait; Trey Moore in the 160th overall pick says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Good price on Taylen Green in pick 201, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
By-the-book stuff, John Michael Gyllenborg at No. 236 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
