The rest of the league will want that one back. Cam Skattebo tumbling to the Texans in the Round 5 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 14 they get a ballhawk on the back end. More want than need.
A straight-up fair deal on Tyler Booker at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No edge and no loss on Matthew Golden in the 41st overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Tyleik Williams in slot 58 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
