Boards are made to be trusted, and the Giants shredded theirs for Frank Gore Jr.. He came off 41 spots early, and the room will hear about it. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The Coleman steal is the beam this whole class leans on. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
A reasonable price with a little left over, Marvin Harrison Jr. in the 6th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They paid up for Xavier Worthy at slot 47 when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Keon Coleman at pick No. 70 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No edge and no loss on Cole Bishop in No. 107; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A quiet steal in pick 173: Trevor Keegan for less than the market said. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Frank Gore Jr. at the Round 6 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
