The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Cam Hart, the 136th overall pick, roughly 42 picks past where he belonged.
They will need Green to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.
The Darius Slayton pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th pick they get an anchor for the offensive line. A real need, handled.
Xavier Legette in No. 34 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Spencer Rattler in the Round 2 slot, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Kingsley Suamataia slid further than he should have, and pick No. 66 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. It fills a real need, too.
They talked themselves into Renardo Green at pick 68, and the board did not agree. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Isaac Guerendo at slot 90 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The roster fit checks out.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Theo Johnson. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Circle this one: Cam Hart at the 136th pick is a fall that decides a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They jumped the gun on Justin Eboigbe, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Garret Greenfield at Round 6, Pick 4 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Taking Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in the Round 7 slot is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
