The rest of the league had time to spare on Nadame Tucker; the Chargers did not wait, grabbing him 43 spots ahead at pick No. 131. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The Sarratt steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
Dillon Thieneman at pick 31 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A tidy little value on Gennings Dunker in No. 55, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Elijah Sarratt at the 86th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Tacario Davis at Round 3, Pick 31 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Joe Royer in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Nadame Tucker at the 131st pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A straight-up fair deal on Toriano Pride Jr. at pick No. 204, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
