New York Giants

The Giants checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Giants spent the 193rd pick on Noah Whittington, a name most had 44 spots down the list.

On value alone, Demmings makes the weekend a net positive. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.12 · Pick 12 · Spencer Fano · OT · rank 9
In No. 12 they get a building block for the line at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R1.29 · Pick 29 · Chris Brazzell II · WR · rank 29
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.5 · Pick 37 · Emmanuel Pregnon · OG · rank 39
They took Emmanuel Pregnon at par in slot 37, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.28 · Pick 92 · Mike Washington Jr. · RB · rank 72
They robbed the room for Mike Washington Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R4.5 · Pick 105 · Bryce Lance · WR · rank 96
A tidy bit of business in Round 4, Pick 5, where Bryce Lance graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R4.12 · Pick 112 · Bud Clark · S · rank 105
A tidy little value on Bud Clark in pick No. 112, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.5 · Pick 145 · Chris McClellan · DT · rank 143
No edge and no loss on Chris McClellan in slot 145; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.8 · Pick 148 · Louis Moore · S · rank 168
Louis Moore at the 148th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R5.12 · Pick 152 · Febechi Nwaiwu · OG · rank 178
They reached into another round for Febechi Nwaiwu, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.5 · Pick 186 · Charles Demmings · CB · rank 150
They barely believed it either: Charles Demmings still on the board at No. 186. It fills a real need, too.
R6.11 · Pick 192 · Kobe Baynes · OG · rank 198
Kobe Baynes in pick No. 192 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R6.12 · Pick 193 · Noah Whittington · RB · rank 237
They reached a country mile for Noah Whittington at pick 193, and the board is aghast. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R6.29 · Pick 210 · Dae'Quan Wright · TE · rank 189
Taking Dae'Quan Wright in the 210th pick is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
