The Kaleb Elarms-Orr pick is the one that will follow the Chiefs into the fall. They took him 35 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.
It is not that Stukes is a bad player; it is that the Chiefs had louder needs to answer first. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

In the 9th overall pick they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value.
In the 29th pick they get a true top target. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Emmanuel Pregnon in slot 40 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
