Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Keyron Crawford at the 58th pick is 72 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
So much rides on Omar Cooper Jr. that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 27 they get a home-run threat at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A big swing on Keyron Crawford at pick No. 58, well ahead of any board in the building. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They paid up for Isaiah World at the Round 4 slot when waiting would have done the job. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No drama and no debate, Eli Raridon went about where he belonged in slot 133. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Beau Stephens at the 138th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They did well to land Jakobe Thomas in No. 139, just ahead of his grade. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
