For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Giants walked out of the weekend still thin at interior defensive lineman, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
That Wilson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Reaching for Nugent left real value on the table behind him. They went 4 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Dallas Turner in the Round 1 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A need, and now a little less of one.
A straight-up fair deal on Tyler Nubin at slot 39, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Good price on Payton Wilson in the 47th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They paid sticker price for Cooper Beebe in No. 70, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Fair-plus on Zak Zinter, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Johnny Wilson slipping to Round 5, Pick 4 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They reached into another round for Drake Nugent, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
