For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Giants walked out of the weekend still thin at safety, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.

Every board in the league had Fautanu lower, and that gap is the story. The Jakobi Meyers deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 4 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
