They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Giants' quarterback, full stop.
The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Oladapo steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Reaching for Hopper left real value on the table behind him.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Graham Barton in the Round 2 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nice patience on Ennis Rakestraw Jr., who had no business lasting to the 47th pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Christian Haynes in slot 70 is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Malik Washington at the 108th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid a round early for Ty'Ron Hopper in No. 140, more than the board wanted. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A quiet steal in pick 185: Kitan Oladapo for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
