The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Cardinals watched Jalon Daniels slide 78 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
Every board in the league had Ferguson lower, and that gap is the story. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 8 they get a lockdown presence outside. More want than need.
A reach on Dontay Corleone in slot 40; the board had better options right there. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A conviction pick on Blake Miller at the 72nd overall pick that the board grades a round light. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They let Conner Weigman come to them and pounced at the 104th pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
TJ Ferguson at the Round 5 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jaishawn Barham in pick 168 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jalon Daniels in pick No. 200 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
