This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Riley Leonard, the No. 106 name on the board, stolen at the 153rd pick. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. Schwesinger has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 16 they get a disruptive interior force, and a steal at that.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Benjamin Morrison in pick 47. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Carson Schwesinger at Round 3, Pick 14 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
By-the-book stuff, Hollin Pierce at the 114th pick squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
You do not let a quarterback like Riley Leonard reach the Round 5 slot and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
