The Giants did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Spencer Rattler fell into pick No. 120. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.
The Allen reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th overall pick they get a difference-maker at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Jordan Morgan in pick No. 39 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nothing to complain about; Jonah Elliss went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Javon Bullard in the Round 3 slot. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They paid sticker price for Max Melton in the 107th pick, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Circle this one: Spencer Rattler at No. 120 is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Braelon Allen at Round 5, Pick 7 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Aki Ogunbiyi in pick 185 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
