They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Giants' quarterback, full stop.
The Laumea steal is the beam this whole class leans on. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain.
They went 6 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get the face of the franchise at fair value.
Troy Fautanu at Round 2, Pick 5 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Nate Wiggins at No. 54 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Malachi Corley in slot 72 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
No drama and no debate, Tyler Davis went about where he belonged in pick No. 105. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A tidy little value on Cade Stover in pick 142, a step better than break-even. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Payton Wilson. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Sataoa Laumea in the 183rd pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A tidy bit of business in pick 229, where Duce Chestnut graded well above the range. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
