After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Giants committed. Drake Maye is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.
Getting McGlothern where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A real need, handled.
Cooper Beebe in No. 47 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Fair-plus on Kamren Kinchens, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A slide stopped in slot 107, with Jalen McMillan worth more than the price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No drama and no debate, Jacob Cowing went about where he belonged in the 141st overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Dwight McGlothern at the 183rd pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
