Start where it matters. The Giants took Drake Maye to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
They are betting Ford proves the room right and everyone else wrong. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 6 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
Blake Corum at pick No. 47 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They paid up for Jalen McMillan at the Round 3 slot when waiting would have done the job. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Khyree Jackson. It fills a real need, too.
Jaylan Ford in Round 5, Pick 7 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
