The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Giants spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
Landing Rakestraw Jr. that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Amarius Mims at pick 39 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Xavier Worthy in Round 2, Pick 15 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. at pick No. 70 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Braelon Allen at slot 107 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
No drama and no debate, Javion Cohen went about where he belonged in the 143rd overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They paid sticker price for Jaylen Harrell in No. 185, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
