The Giants spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Xavier Worthy, the No. 33 name on the board, in the 70th overall pick. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A- to cap it.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They are betting Stover proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. They went 6 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In the end it comes back to Malik Nabers, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.6 · Pick 6 · Malik Nabers · WR · rank 4
In pick No. 6 they get a matchup problem out wide. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R1.7 · Pick 7 · Joe Alt · OT · rank 3
In the 7th overall pick they get a blindside protector at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.5 · Pick 37 · JC Latham · OT · rank 17
Somehow JC Latham was still sitting there in the Round 2 slot, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R2.7 · Pick 39 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 13
Circle this one: Kool-Aid McKinstry at No. 39 is a fall that decides a draft. The roster fit checks out.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · Jeremiah Trotter Jr. · LB · rank 51
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jeremiah Trotter Jr.. A minor itch, scratched.
R3.6 · Pick 70 · Xavier Worthy · WR · rank 33
Xavier Worthy at Round 3, Pick 6 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.14 · Pick 78 · Troy Fautanu · OT · rank 45
Steal is underselling it; Troy Fautanu at slot 78 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R4.5 · Pick 105 · Cade Stover · TE · rank 140
Cade Stover at pick 105 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A need, and now a little less of one.
R4.14 · Pick 114 · Tykee Smith · S · rank 112
Tykee Smith at No. 114 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.6 · Pick 142 · Max Melton · CB · rank 121
Max Melton in pick No. 142 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R6.8 · Pick 183 · Dylan Laube · RB · rank 159
Dylan Laube in the 183rd pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
