The Giants clearly saw something nobody else did in Joe Milton III, taking him 57 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain. That Murphy II pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 6 they get a seam-stretching tight end at fair value. A real need, handled.
The board fumbled Byron Murphy II all the way to No. 39, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Adonai Mitchell at pick 47 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They took Ricky Pearsall at par in Round 3, Pick 6, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They talked themselves into Joe Milton III at the 107th pick, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Dylan Laube in the 143rd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Nathan Thomas at Round 6, Pick 10 is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
