The Giants spent real capital to be 206 picks early on Tatum Bethune, and the board is going to hold them to it. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Landing Beebe that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Bottom line, with Dallas Turner leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 24 they get a premier pass rusher. A real need, handled.
Nothing to complain about; Terrion Arnold went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jordan Morgan in the 47th pick is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A slide stopped in No. 69, with Cooper Beebe worth more than the price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They took Tommy Eichenberg at par in the 105th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They did well to land Donovan Jackson in the Round 4 slot, just ahead of his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Frank Gore Jr. in slot 142 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Tatum Bethune at pick No. 184 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Fentrell Cypress II in Round 7, Pick 25 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
