The Giants lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Landing Moore that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They will need Eichenberg to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 32 they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Troy Fautanu at pick 37, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They took Jordan Morgan at par in slot 47, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Good price on Cooper DeJean in the 64th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A need, and now a little less of one.
Ja'Lynn Polk at the 69th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They liked Tommy Eichenberg enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 3 slot. It adds depth where they could use a little.
By-the-book stuff, Cam Hart at Round 4, Pick 5 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A tidy little value on Jordan Travis in pick No. 142, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A tidy bit of business in the 183rd pick, where Malachi Moore graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
