It is a puzzling start. The Giants had cornerback, running back and other spots to solve and reached instead for Kamari Lassiter, a defensive back, at the Round 2 slot.
A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Taylor III.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Rome Odunze at slot 14, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Of all the spots to shop, they chose defensive back. Kamari Lassiter in pick No. 37 leaves cornerback, running back and other spots for later.
Quinn Ewers at the 46th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Nothing to complain about; Kingsley Suamataia went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They took Chris Braswell at par in Round 3, Pick 5, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A slide stopped in the Round 3 slot, with Leonard Taylor III worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Andrew Mukuba at the 105th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Tyler Guyton in No. 142 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Nice patience on Zion Tupuola-Fetui, who had no business lasting to pick 183. The roster fit checks out.
