If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Giants, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.
Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. If Tiernan pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

In slot 29 they get a mismatch in the passing game, outstanding value to boot.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Omar Cooper Jr.. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A premium they did not need to pay, Caleb Tiernan a notch or two before his time. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A quiet steal in pick 105: Zakee Wheatley for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nice patience on Harold Perkins Jr., who had no business lasting to the 145th overall pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Aamil Wagner at the 186th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
