After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Giants committed. Drake Maye is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Every board in the league had Gray lower, and that gap is the story. The Coleman pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. A real need, handled.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Amarius Mims in No. 25. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Keon Coleman in the 47th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jaylen Wright at slot 70 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The roster fit checks out.
Cedric Gray in the 108th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
