After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Giants committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.
They will need Harrell to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Haynes at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Xavier Legette at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A tidy bit of business in the 70th overall pick, where Christian Haynes graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Khyree Jackson in pick 107 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jordan Magee at No. 166 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jaylen Harrell this early at the 183rd pick. The roster fit checks out.
